Marmite is dark brown-colored savory spread made from the yeast that is a by-product of the brewing industry. It has a very strong, slightly salty flavor. Delicious spread thinly on toast or dilute it in boiling water and pour over potatoes before roasting and of course ads a kick to gravies. High in B vitamins and folic acid.
