Drinks: TEA & Tea Ware
Tea comes from the leaves of a beautiful evergreen plant called Sinenis, which was first cultivated over 2,000 years ago. All teas come from the same species of plant. Processing determines whether the tea is green, black, oolong, white or even scented. Think of tea like a fine wine. Depending on the soil, as well as many other elements, All will determine the notes the tea will take on. The taking of tea in the afternoon, accompanied by delicious cakes, is a typical English custom. It was reputedly introduced in the mid 19th century by the Duchess of Bedford who insisted on taking tea to overcome ‘that sinking feeling’ between the hours of lunch and dinner.
